The combined number of vacancies in both departments is 45. These positions are specifically for retired employees who previously worked in the relevant categories.
Eligibility Criteria
These Pakistan Railways Jobs 2026 are intended for retired supervisory staff of the Carriage & Wagon and Mechanical Loco departments. Only retired employees who have worked in the relevant category mentioned in the advertisement are eligible for appointment.
The maximum age limit is 62 years.
Retired employees who were compulsorily removed, dismissed or retired on medical grounds are not eligible for appointment.
Educational Qualification
The required qualification depends on the category. Posts in BPS-14, BPS-12 and BPS-11 generally require DAE/Mechanical, while the listed Mistry and Skilled positions require Middle qualification.
Candidates must also have the relevant experience specified against their category.
For TXR/G-III and Foreman/Gr-I in the Carriage & Wagon Department, 20 years of experience in Rolling Stock repair and maintenance is required.
The other listed positions require 10 years of relevant experience, as specified in the advertisement.
Salary and Contract
The selected retired employees will be appointed for an initial period of one year, which may be extended for another year if required.
According to the advertisement, selected employees will receive salary in BS-06, BS-09, BS-11, BS-12 and BS-14 according to their last pay drawn, along with usual allowances. They will not be entitled to any payment towards gratuity and pension under this contract.
Selected employees may be posted anywhere in the entire Railway System.

Medical Examination and TA/DA
Selected retired employees will be required to pass a medical fitness examination from Pakistan Railways Hospital only.
No TA/DA will be paid to retired employees called for interview or medical examination.
